REACH Compliance

A Key Responsibility for Importers

What is REACH?

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is the European Union regulation governing the use of chemical substances within the EU market.

The regulation applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors, and users of chemical products and articles containing regulated substances.

Its objective is to protect human health and the environment while ensuring transparency throughout the supply chain.

Why Does REACH Matter?

Companies importing sealants, adhesives, potting compounds, silicones, encapsulants, and other chemical products into the European Union are responsible for ensuring compliance with REACH requirements.

European authorities have significantly increased controls and enforcement activities in recent years.

Failure to comply may result in:

  • Delays at customs

  • Product recalls

  • Financial penalties

  • Supply chain disruptions

  • Reputational damage

The Risks for Importers

Many products available on the global market may meet technical requirements but may not fully satisfy current European regulatory obligations.

Importers should ensure that:

  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available and up to date

  • Restricted substances are properly declared

  • SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) requirements are fulfilled

  • Suppliers can provide the necessary compliance documentation

  • Regulatory obligations are continuously monitored

The legal responsibility ultimately remains with the importer placing the product on the European market.

How Enlog Supports Its Customers

Enlog works with trusted and established manufacturing partners that are committed to product quality, regulatory transparency, and long-term supply reliability.

Together with our partners, we can support customers with:

  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • Technical Data Sheets (TDS)

  • REACH-related declarations

  • Product compliance information

  • Regulatory support and guidance

Our goal is to help customers minimize regulatory risks while ensuring a reliable and sustainable supply chain.

CBAM Compliance

A Strategic Requirement for Importers

What is CBAM?

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is part of the European Union's climate policy and applies a carbon cost to certain imported goods, ensuring fair competition with products manufactured within the EU.

CBAM covers several carbon-intensive sectors, including aluminium and steel products used in the production and installation of PV modules. Since January 2026, CBAM has entered its definitive phase and is now an important factor in supplier selection, purchasing decisions, and supply chain management.

Why Does CBAM Matter?

CBAM introduces a direct link between the carbon footprint of imported goods and their cost of access to the European market.

The financial impact depends on:

  • The actual CO₂ emissions generated during production

  • The quality and reliability of the emissions data provided

  • The use of measured rather than default values

  • The future market price of CBAM certificates

  • The ability of suppliers to provide transparent and verifiable information

As the system evolves, accurate emissions reporting is becoming a key competitive advantage.

The Risks for Importers

Importers are responsible for ensuring that CBAM declarations are accurate and supported by reliable emissions data.

If suppliers cannot provide transparent and credible information, the use of default values may significantly increase CBAM costs.

Potential risks include:

  • Higher carbon costs

  • Reduced competitiveness

  • Increased compliance burden

  • Customs and regulatory issues

  • Loss of business opportunities

  • Greater exposure to future audits and verifications

Reliable emissions data is therefore becoming as important as product quality, price, and delivery performance.

How Enlog Supports Its Customers

Enlog works closely with trusted manufacturing partners to improve transparency and support compliance with CBAM requirements.

Together with our partners, we can support customers through:

  • Collection of production emissions data

  • Preparation of CBAM reports

  • Evaluation of production routes and carbon footprints

  • Support during CBAM reporting activities

  • Coordination with specialized CBAM consultants

  • Assistance in understanding the impact of CBAM on imported products

Our objective is to help customers make informed purchasing decisions and reduce regulatory risks.
